The French Connection

I just want to start off by saying I have not been following the Republicans election campaigns as much as I probably should be. However one does not need to follow a campaign to realize when one of the candidate's is running a smear campaign, which they all do. This ad has to be one of the best displays of stupidity I have seen in awhile. I am of course speaking about the fact that Newt Gingrich is criticizing Mitt Romney because he speaks French.

                                                                      

New Year. New Beginning.

I hardly posted anything on here last year(actually nothing at all) but now that will all change. I decided to give the blogging world another chance. In the coming weeks I will post reviews about movies I have recently watched, some new and some old. First on my list is Nicolas Winding Refn's critically acclaimed film Drive.

REVIEW: Captain America: The First Avenger

Easily the best comic book film of 2011 so far, Captain America: The First Avenger excellently displays how comic book movies can in fact be full of heart and soul. Movies like  Thor and The Green Lantern try to tell grounded and heartfelt stories, they both failed to reach their respective goals. Thor's dark and incomprehensible action sequences took me out of it's more human moments. The Green Lantern's Hal Jordan, played by Ryan Reynolds who was surprisingly  the biggest strength of the film, lacked any real reason to care for anything that happened to Hal or for anyone else for that matter. Joe Johnston's Captain America not only strives to be a more grounded human story, it surpasses what came before it and is ultimately a success, all without The Green Lantern's reportedly 300 million dollar budget(For that much money, you would expect the villain not to look like the Smog Monster from Godzilla.) By giving us something to care for and by having small but important action sequences, the film succeeds not only as a super-hero movie, but as a story that happens to have a super hero in it.

Inner Cabrillo Beach Shut Down Due to Sewage Spill

For San Pedro residents, the news of the sewage spill in their local beach's water was nothing more than devastating. The spill was caused by the breaking of a sewer line. Inner Cabrillo Beach is utilized by many families during the summer, especially since the ocean is calm and flat which is safe for their young children. With the temperature increasing, these families will not be able to use the inner part of the beach as a source to cool down and have some fun. There is an outer part to the beach, however it is used more for surfing.

The City of San Pedro is a popular tourist attraction, yet now with beach closed down as result of the sewage spill, the tourist population may decrease. The beach will remain closed until further noticed by public health officials. It is advised to stay out of the water until 5 pm Thursday.

About the Authors: Part III

Hey, I'm Anaiza, the third author to this blog. Most people can not pronounce my name and so people just call me Ana. Like my brother Arnulfo, whom I call Fufo, I also watch a lot of reality t.v. Watching movies at the theatre quite often with Daniel is another thing I do. I usually do and say things that I later regret but continue to repeat my mistakes. I tend to, like Daniel and Fufo say, "obsess" over hot celebrity guys. The band I'm obsessing over right now is One Direction! They are a British boy band. Besides obsessing over hot guys, I also like to do fun and exciting things :D I am very competitive and get annoyed when people (Daniel) do better than me. However I am also too nice. I am probably one of the most sentimental people you will ever meet. If you hear sniffles at the movie theatre than its probably me crying because something cute, sad or bad happened in the movie haha. I am very textually active as you will most of the time see me on my phone, but I am also always on Facebook. I just got a twitter(to follow One Direction) as well. I am interested in acting, and have been since I was 8. I participated in all the school plays thereafter. I am in Daniel's movie and was recently in a play he helped direct. Although I love acting, I am also interested in becoming a nurse. No not the sexy halloween outfit nurse. lol. An actual nurse. I could go on speaking about myself but I don't want to bore you to death!

Arnulfo "Arnyfoo" Romero

The best looking and most talented author happens to be myself. I have much to say about myself, except I will impeded myself from being received as conceited. The majority of my time is spent engaging in absolutely nothing, besides watching reality TV, and eating. You're now probably wondering what my social life consists of. My high school career was very...I don't know how to put this...unusual. I only talked to the popular at school and partied with them outside of school, but my true friends are the nerdy and awkward people; and that is due to the fact that I myself am a nerdy awkward person.

I usually talk and talk and talk about the most unimportant/pointless things, such as who went home on American Idol or America's Next Top Model. If not that, then I talking shit about others. Yes by reading this, you are probably thinking that I am an arrogant self-revolved person, but deep inside I truly am! ;) Although I am caring and loving (it's just difficult for me to emote a sensitive side) person.

About the Authors: Part I

My name is Daniel Trujillo. I am one of  three writers attached to this blog. My other fellow writers are Arnulfo Romero and his beautiful sister, Anaiza Romero. This three part entry will detail a small bit of information about the each of us. Movies are my life. My future aspirations in life are to be both a screenwriter as well as a director for the screen. Currently I'm working on my first short film, which is actually turning out to be longer than I expected and may well end up to be a feature length film. There are tons of people in the film industry who have influenced me. Some of the obvious ones are greats like Stanely Kubrick, Martin Scorsese, and Quentin Tarantino. I have a tendency to overwrite so I'll keep my first entry short. As I continue to post, I will reveal more and more. It is hard for me to fully describe myself, but I feel that www.urbandictionary.com has one of the best descriptions: This is a difficult name to define because it defies many boundaries of human perception, let alone various languages. One of the closest translations that experts give is God or many other variations of that general idea. Other definitions are thought to be: Tao Chi The Great Spirit Chuck Norris Energy Infinity Sublime ect Despite the fact that various names have been pinned to Daniel, its seems that all of the above examples (including that of God)cannot even withstand the magnitude of Daniel. The reason this name continues to elude even the brightest of human minds is that the idea of Daniel cannot possibly exist in a dimensional state. Daniel is so powerful, it defies all laws of this or any other universe. Recent studies have shown that people who have attempted to comprehend this name have either disappeared, died spontaneously, or driven themselves into a pertinent state of insanity and/or catatonia. One common belief is that Daniel is possibly the grounds on which everything and nothing is based. It seems to surpass the idea of infinity. Quantum physicists report that this Daniel is Everything and Nothing. It or He is said to have unexplainable connections with the String and Superstring Theories as Daniel resonates within every single layer of the multi-dimensional complex and yet still exists beyond that point which is where scientists have lost the trail. Various theologists and spiritual leaders believe that Daniel is one who is, as they say, "The Answer". All attempts to understand this idea of Daniel have failed. Daniel. Nothing else can describe him.
